A: It’s true that the Sandships rulesheet does not specifically disallow passing on a given die roll, but it does imply it with the simple statement, “On your turn, roll the three dice, and take the three actions shown. You can perform them in any order.”

Please interpret this to mean that, on your turn, you take [all] three actions shown – exactly three, no fewer. The video does make it clear what is intended, but, of course, not everyone will necessarily watch or even find the video.

So, yes, this could absolutely be clearer in the rulesheet. Looney Labs will almost certainly never reprint a physical edition of this specific product once this initial run is gone, so, unfortunately we can’t promise we will “fix it on the reprint.”

We’ll all have to be content with an update to the online pdf, and reference to this FAQ for those who might find themselves understandably uncertain on the subject of passing in this game.
